Luke loves getting the real mail so much, that I thought I would make him his own mailbox!
I found this paper-mache mailbox at Hobby Lobby (50%off) and covered it with cute papers. If you make your own, you probably should modpodge the paper…but me and modpodge do not get along so I didn’t do it.
I alternated using two of my decorative stitches on my sewing machine for the “address” and then I went over it with a marker to make it a little darker. (don’t look too closely—I think my tension is off!!)
The back of the envelope closes with Velcro, too
I have been writing little notes and putting them in the envelopes and then into the mailbox for Luke to find. He will bring them to me and I will read them to him! I might start putting little treats and toys in there too for holidays and birthdays. I can see this being a really fun daily activity—Luke excitedly looking in the mailbox to see if he has any fun mail!
So there you go! A cute little project to inspire some creative play!
Brilliant. I bet my daughter would love this!
