the never-ending project.

Yes, the desk. it's still not done.
But we are definitely getting closer.
the end is near.

Maybe it's the beasts guarding the project...

I think Luke doesn't want to give up his new-found cubby!
He's been putting all his toys (and himself) in the cupboards and in all the empty drawers.

Have your fun this week, Lukey, but next week it's all mine!

On the Table

If I can't have Spring outside...

...then I will have it on my table.

A Memory is Better with Pictures

Today marks the 4 year anniversary of the day Scott and I got engaged! Normally, we don't really celebrate it or anything, our wedding anniversary is at the end of July, but I wanted to write a little blurb about it because I finally got the pictures!

For the full story, visit this post that I wrote on the very day we got engaged!
It was the middle of finals week, which wasn't in Scott's originally plan, but because of where he decided to propose, the weather had to be just right...which pushed the originally planned date into finals week.

What I didn't mention in the original post, was that we never got any pictures from that day! Scott left his camera in the car, and I had mine {i was totally suspicious and shoved it in my pocket just in case} but it DIED after just a few pictures!!! The Balloon pilot had a camera though {Hallelujah chorus} but we never received the CD he'd promised to send us!!

Fast Forward 4 years to January 2011. Little Brother was looking up Hot Air Balloon Websites and saw some pretty familiar faces on a webpage: http://www.skywalker.at/utah-private-wedding-balloon-flight.html
{top right corner!} He sent me an email and my jaw literally fell on the floor when I saw it! All hope was not lost!

Fast Forward to last week. I finally wrote an email to the website and got in contact with them. And guess what? It was so easy! He sent me about 15 of the best pictures he had! I was so so happy to get them!

Here's a Trip down my Memory Lane:

The End!!

Love you Hubby!!

Paint Chip Dilemma

Is it just me...

...or do all these look the same!!

At least they ALL look better than what is currently behind them.

I H.A.T.E the neutral color they chose for our house.

I probably say that every.single.day.

So now I just have to pick one of these shades of the same and get it up on the walls!

Desk Progress

I am in love.
With this color!

It's called Tide Pools by Behr.

I love it because sometimes it looks more blue, but sometimes it is more green. All in all it is fresh, bright, cheerful and i love it!

Remember when I said I wanted to streamline our desk area?

Well first, we had to paint!

Progress:

I can't wait to show you the next step! Building the desk & shelves!

soap art with free printables

I made these really cute neighbor gifts for Christmas, and I'm still getting some questions on them, so I decided to post about them again with some updates!

You can make your own, but you will need transparency sheets, and a laser printer. Or you can take it to get it printed somewhere like FedEx.

Here is the Clean Hands artwork that I created for my Christmas gifts:
  • Click the image and save it on your computer.
  • Then open it up using www.picnik.com
  • Click on the "Create" tab at the top, then click "Text"
  • Click the text box at the upper left, above the options for fonts. Type in the name that you want to use to personalize your soap and click 'add' (you may have to change the color to black in order to see your text)
  • Then you can play with the fonts and sizing and pick what you like best. {i used the font called Pupcat for mine here}

  • After you are done, then click on the Save and Share tab at the top.
    I always save at the highest quality out of principle.
  • Then, to print, I plugged the jpeg into a word document because I wanted to fit a bunch on one sheet, but do whatever you need to do. The picture should be about 2.5 inches wide and 3.5 inches long in order to fit in the same kind of soap bottle that I used.
Same idea for this frame (which is just a digital scrapbooking frame by Summer Driggs), just plug in an initial using Picnik:

Like this example:

OR, if you just want to print it out without personalizing, here is the image for that:
{it should be good for an 8x10, even better if it's smaller than that because that is what it was made for}

That's it! Let me know if you have any questions! Happy Soap-making :)

{if you use these images, please use for personal use & gifting only! No selling!}
