Tracy Aviary

Saturday we decided to head up to SLC to the Tracy Aviary.

Luke was SO excited when he saw the birds! He was having a blast!

Pelicans are HUGE. This picture doesn't do them justice.
We followed this mother duck and her NINE ducklings to the bridge where the mother duck encouraged her ducklings to jump down into the river to join her. It was one of the coolest things I've ever seen as each little duckling built up some courage and then hopped in!
The Bald Eagle

This little green bird is from Brazil, Scott served his mission there and he recognized it because he saw them everywhere down there.
Some parts Luke could get really really close to some of the birds

He loved the ducks and kepts saying "Duckies!"
I love Flamingos

The peacocks wandered around freely
Luke ran away when we tried to get him closer for a picture

When we were walking out one of the peacocks was showing off!

It's a great little place for a short Saturday excursion. Luke was free (under 3 is free) and it was fun to get out of the house for the morning! Scott and I decided we're going to get out and go somewhere new and fun more often--we have so much to see and we've lived in UT for 5+ years now! Anyway, here's a couple videos of Luke saying "birds! Birds!"

"Whoa, birds!...." " There and there and there"

  1. Fun adventure for Luke! He's saying more and more words. It looks like he's got a tint of red in his hair.
