HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY
Scott and I kept busy today! We started off the day by sleeping in! I was SO beyond thrilled to not have to wake up at 4am. We got together and made waffles in our new waffle iron. Then we decided to go for a swim after failing at both trying to go weighlifting and playing tennis. After the swim and quick showers we headed for campus to play games to kill some time before going to the theatre. We really wanted to see Transformers so we made sure to buy tickets online early in the day, but it didn't start until 4:10 and we weren't planning to leave until 3. Transformers was a great movie! I loved it! It's been such a long time since I've seen a really good movie that kept my interest the entire time. Even Pirates 3 didn't do it for me. After the movie we got dinner and ice cream and then went up onto Y Mountain to get a good view of fireworks. We snatched a spot on the hillside, but after a while decided we'd rather get really close to the fireworks. So we were off to find a better spot. We parked at DT and walked to the Marriot Center on campus. We managed to find an okay spot; we had a pretty good view, though we were on a cement part of the sidewalk. The fireworks were part of the Stadium of Fire show and as always, were absolutely great. We did have to fight some traffic to get home--it took us over 20 minutes just to get down a couple blocks of 9th East. But I had such an eventful day that I fell right to sleep once I got home and slept like a rock.
Did you take that fireworks picture???
